    Iranian year begins from 21 March of each Christian year and ends on the 20th of the next year. To convert the Iranian year into Christian year please add 621 years to the reference year.

Industry

 

Petroleum, Gas, Petrochemical, Steel, Weaving, Food Processing, Car, Electrical and Electronics Industries are among the key industries in the country. The Handicrafts, Household and traditional industries such as carpets, coarse carpets, inlaid, inlayer and ceramic industries are also considered the key local manufactures.

In 1384 there have been 16 thousand industrial workshops, each with more than 10 employees that has showed a decrease of 1.6% compared to the previous year. 96.4% of the said workshops owned by private while only 3.6% belonged to the public sectors. In the same year over one million employees have been working in the above said workshops, showing 1.4% decrease compared to the year before. Of the above figure, 25.1% (267 thousand employees) has been working in workshops with workforce of 10-49 , 11.7 % (124 thousand) in units with 50-99, and 63% (671 thousand) in workshops with over 100 workers.15.6 % of these employees mostly have been working in food processing and beverage industries.

  The investment in industrial workshops with ten employees and more has amounted to Rials 25368 billion in the course of 1384, and this showed 1.2 % increase compared to the year before. The lion share of the said investment has been given to machineries (Rls. 154 billion).In the same period the added value of performance of industrial workshops with ten and more employees has reached Rls 208201 billions, which indicates   14.9% increase in comparison to previous year.
