Approximately 30 thousand physicians were working under the supervision of Ministry of Health in 1385, this shows an increase of 12.7% compared to the previous year. Of this figure 13485 have been general practitioners, 122258 specialized physicians, 2786 dentists, 81 veterinarians and 1327 pharmacists. In the said year, Tehran with 5265 physicians has had the largest share, and Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan and Fars have respectively with 3328, 2109 and 1661 come after.

   In 1385 there have been 5786  healthcare centers in urban and  2502 in rural areas, and 4414 medical pathology laboratories  , 2704 center of rehabilitation, and 2227 ray therapy centers as well as 358 pharmacies all across the country. In the year of this study, the country has had 773 health care centers (including hospitals, maternities, and sanatoriums) with 116 thousand operating beds, of which 65% has been affiliated to the Ministry of Health.

      In 1385, the highest vaccination in institutions associated to Ministry of Health has been reported including child paralyze (7268 thousand cases), triple vaccination (4686 thousand), Hepatitis B (4206 thousand).
